Creating Self-Care Practices

Creating small moments of self-care throughout your day is one of the most powerful actions we can take to increase our self-worth and step up to be the mother/teacher/sister we are destined to be.

When we practice self-care, we:

  • can give more to the ones we love
  • show up to every moment in the best version of ourselves available at the time
  • understand that we hold the keys to our happiness, not someone else
  • feel more comfortable saying no because we know what it feels like to feel good
  • allow ourselves to take a break and give our bodies the rest we need

Repeat after me:

  • I matter. I am allowed to say no to others and yes to myself.
  • I can nourish myself to allow myself to flourish.
  • I am now creating new routines that help support my self-care.

Additional self-care tools

Belula Dry Brushing Body Brush – dry brush the morning before you hop in the shower to help stimulate the lymphatic system and exfoliate the skin. Small circles towards the heart.

Clarisonic Mia Cleansing Brush –  I use this 2-3 times/week with the DōTERRA Facial Cleanser and one drop of Ylang-Ylang. Feels my skin feeling so smooth!

EarthWise Aromatics Palo Santo Sticks – cleanse your space of negative energy. I love this ritual before meditation and as needed throughout my house.

Yogi Skin Detox Tea – my AM tea (contains a small amount of caffeine!). The taste is divine.

Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar – I add about 1 tbsp. to my morning “tonic”. Make it yourself; it’s super easy: 25 oz. of water + ACV + 3 drops of Grapefruit + 2 drops of Juniper Berry.

YogaToes Therapeutic Toe Stretchers – bunions always have my feet feeling tight, and these are the perfect way to release the muscles in my feet as I wind down at night.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Wipes – the ultimate makeup remover! Leaves your skin feeling hydrated and clean, plus they contain essential oils!

BedTime Bliss Eye Mask – a travel necessity for me!

Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salts – the foundational ingredient in all of my detox baths! The magnesium can help relieve sore muscles and encourage relaxation. Get creative and add essential oils of your choice.

Grace + Stella De-Puffing Under-Eye Masks – helps to de-puff and energize the under-eye area. I love to use these when I’m in my detox bath or towards the end of a long flight.

Meili Trigger Point Massager – aka torture device, this tension reliever is killer on the trouble areas on your legs, feet, and back. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings you joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life. – Jean Shinoda Bolen
