Your Must-Reads for Summer 2019
If you’re looking for your next summer read, you’ve found the right place. I’ve rounded up the best summer reads ranging from thrillers to romance to self-help and more! Dive in and find your next book now.
Picking up a good book and getting lost for an hour or two is one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind, especially after a long day at work. There’s something that fills me with so much joy with this simple practice.
When summertime rolls around, I’m usually found with my nose in a new read, and it’s safe to say that reading is one of my favorite forms of self-care.
MY MUST-READS FOR THIS SUMMER
I’ve broken out my top picks for this summer into a few different genres to help you navigate your choices with a bit more ease. I’m a big fan of the thriller genre, mixed in with a little fluffy brain candy, and layered with a few legitimate self-help/self-discovery books.
Over the past few years, I’ve tried to give myself leeway and read only books that I’m genuinely interested in because for so long I found myself reading books because they were trending in the wellness and self-help world. Most of those books are sitting in a pile with only a few chapters consumed.

LOOKING TO DITCH PAPER BOOKS?
Yes, there is something magical about opening a physical book, but I understand that they aren’t always the most practical option from many standpoints.
I read so much that I recently joined our local library (find yours here!). The best part is that it’s just a short walk from our house, which is saving me a lot of money in the long run!
Are libraries not your thing? There are some other ways I love to devour my reads, especially if I’m traveling and don’t want to carry around bulky books on vacation or in my carry-on.
- Audible allows you to listen to your books, which is an excellent option for long car rides or boring cross-country flights. Get two free audiobooks now!
- Kindle Unlimited gets you unlimited access to millions of titles and is perfect if you’re looking to read a lot of books on just one device. I use my Kindle App on my iPhone and iPad, but my husband loves this Kindle.
