When it comes to taking care of yourself, having a strong sense of self-love is non-negotiable but not always easy. As a self-care coach, I’ve found that one of the biggest hiccups in someone’s plan for increasing their self-love is a lack of self-care at a spiritual level.
Incorporating crystals into your self-care practice can strengthen the love you feel for yourself as you will begin to feel more grounded, secure, and of course, loved.
I’ll admit it: I’m very new to crystals and their incredible powers totally isn’t my area of expertise, so I’ve partnered with crystal guru and spiritual success coach, Andee Love.
Andee Love is a spiritual success coach, speaker, and intuitive with a master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. It is her mission to facilitate growth in others so that they see the power they hold when they tune into their highest self. She believes deeply in the mind-body connection and creating an internal and external environment where happiness, joy, and success are inevitable. More information on Andee and her offerings.
Have you ever found yourself struggling with self-care?
Do you hear people talking about it, and think “what’s the big deal,” or “I don’t have time for that,” or perhaps even judge the concept as too self-indulgent? I can remember feeling all these things at different times, but it wasn’t until a girlfriend asked me what I do for me, and having no idea how to answer her question, I was hit hard with the realization that all of those prior beliefs were bullshit and I was not caring for myself in ways that I needed.
As a high-level business coach and past therapist, I was accustomed to taking care of others, holding space for them in times of need, and even giving the best advice on self-care. The problem was, I wasn’t actually implementing anything I was teaching, and oftentimes found myself burnt out and overwhelmed.
Over the last several years following that fateful conversation, self-care has become a non-negotiable priority in my life. Slowing down and taking non-judgemental time for yourself can be such a challenge, especially if you are used to doing everything and caregiving for others all the time. So, I want to share with you one of my favorite self-care tools – healing crystals – and how I use them to keep me accountable to my self-care practice.
Healing Crystals contain energy and come from the earth. You may have seen them used in energy sessions, massage, reiki, or simply sitting in a room to clear energy. They are known as energy amplifiers or energy transmuters, and when used with the right intention they can help balance the mind, restore the body, and bring a general state of calm for the entire self
My favorite way to use my crystals is with the chakra energy centers of the body. You can give yourself a quick tune-up in as little as ten minutes. You can also use crystals as a way to protect your energy throughout the day by simply carrying them in your purse, pocket, or even your bra!
When purchasing crystals, it’s important to pick the ones that you’re drawn too. They all have different energetic properties, so trust yourself to which one lures you in.
If you’re unsure, or if you’re looking for a few recommendations, I am going to share a few of my favorites below and how I use them with my chakras.
Known as the crystal of opportunity.
It has been known to help boost self-confidence, courage, and strength. It can assist in the release of limiting beliefs and is also known for attracting wealth and abundance.
I like to use Aventurine in my meditations, specifically placing it over my solar plexus (three inches above my navel), or over my heart chakra space (over the heart space on the chest). I use this whenever I need a boost in confidence, or when I am feeling stress and overwhelm.
Known as the crystal of love.
This is one of my absolute favorite crystals and I consider it a self-care must!
When used, Rose Quartz can elicit feelings of self-love and self-acceptance. Personally, I love to use this crystal in my meditation practice after a long day, placed next to me in a healing salt bath, or even leave it resting on my nightstand.
To increase your own feelings of self love, simply place this crystal this over the heart chakra space while lying down.
Known as the crystal of clarity.
I use this when I am lacking vision or feeling disconnected from my path. Amethyst can be placed on your third eye space (between the brows), or you can simply hold it in your hand, setting the intention for deeper clarity and vision.
Personally, I have several pieces of amethyst in my home office and use it anytime I need a boost or when seeking a deeper connection to my feelings or vision.
Whether you’re new on this journey or you’re a life-long crystal lover, remember, let the crystals choose you! Your mind, body, and soul intuitively know what it needs.
Bringing healing crystals into your life and allowing them to serve as reminders to take time for you is a powerful practice!
